Non Stop Journey - Vasthunna Mee Kosam Paadha Yatra by Nara

The TDP president Chandrababu Naidu is going nonstop with his Padayatra named ‘Vastunna Mee Kosam’. Generally, any Padayatra should have an objective and usually it is about increasing the cadre, develop confidence among the vote bank and also create a connect with the general masses. But what Babu is doing right now is evoking mixed reactions. His Padayatra ‘Vastunna Mee Kosam’ was to conclude long back but it has been a while since this is on and getting extended. The question being put to Babu is, what is the use of doing this Padayatra and what are its advantages on a large scale. Some are saying Babu has no choice but to continue because YSRCP leader Sharmila is getting a very good response with her Padayatra. The other observation is that many feel the people almost forgot about TDP but Babu’s Padayatra really reminded them of the party presence. But will that be good enough for him to fetch votes? Let us see.

Power star Pawan Kalyan is ready with full Energetic and Entertainment

Power star Pawan Kalyan might well be a top star and his craze among fans and stamina at box office may be mindblowing but one drawback is still there. His films don’t really work for the family audience. His previous films ‘Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ were more commercial.

But now it is heard that Pawan Kalyan has decided to come in full dose and enthral the family audience. The credit for that must be given to director Trivikram Srinivas who has reportedly carved out a script which will be a complete family entertainer along with the required material for Pawan fans.

Those who heard the storyline in a nutshell are already declaring that this is a sure shot hit. The film is being targeted for a release in summer and whatever gaps have been there in Pawan films so far all of them would be filled with this one. This should be good enough for yet another blockbuster.

2G scam: Raja wants to appear as witness before the JPC

Blamed for a number of issues in the 2G scam, former Telecom Minister A Raja wants to appear before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) as a witness to tell his side of story.

Raja's request to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar comes days after Attorney General G E Vahanvati blamed him for various issues before the JPC.

He has also been blamed for the 2G scam by other witnesses before the special CBI court.

Raja met Kumar at her office yesterday and handed over a letter expressing his willingness to appear as a witness before the committee.

DMK members in JPC T R Baalu and T Siva had been pressing Chairman P C Chacko to call Raja as a witness. They also demanded calling Vahanvati again before the panel after he told JPC earlier this month that the controversial press note regarding 2G licences was changed at the last minute by Raja in 2008 with a different pen.

Vahanvati was then the Solicitor General.

Chacko is apparently against calling Raja as a witness.

He has told members that as an accused has legal protection, he cannot make fresh revelations before any committee. Therefore, there was no point in calling Raja.

But Chacko is yet to take a final call on the issue.

"If Raja is to be called, he will be the last witness. If DMK agrees on not calling him, then we have concluded calling witnesses before JPC and we would focus on writing the report," Chacko had recently said.

Parliament sources said the Speaker cannot direct any committee to call a person as a witness. In this case, Kumar can forward Raja's letter to Chacko who is currently in Bangalore.

Hyderabad blasts: CCTV footage, mobile call records being examined; AP govt claims to have got 'vital clues'

Hyderabad: Investigators on Saturday claimed to have got ‘vital clues’ in the probe into the twin blasts in the city and were examining CCTV footage with the needle of suspicion zeroing in on banned militant outfit Indian Mujahideen.

Police also announced Rs 10 lakh award for information leading to the perpetrators of Thursday's serial blasts that left 16 dead and 117 injured.

"We have already gathered vital clues in the case. We are confident we will crack the case soon," state Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy said after a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. Amid reports that some CCTV cameras at the blast sites were not functioning, the state home minister said 3500 closed-circuit cameras would be installed at vital locations under Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates to improve vigil.

The modus operandi adopted by the perpetrators like ammonium nitrate and splinters-laden aluminium containers fitted to bicycles used in the blasts were similar to the attacks carried out by Indian Mujahideen.

Without going into details, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anurag Sharma said, "We have some evidence, some clues".

"We have footage from the camera (at the blast site) which we are analysing it," he said while refuting media reports that CCTV wires had been cut by the terrorists before their operation. He, however, admitted that out of 303 CCTVs in the city, 38 were not functioning.

The Police Commissioner said they had received an alert from Delhi on February 15 about possible strikes in Hyderabad and three other cities. "We did not take any warning lightly".

Asked about reports of arrests and detentions, he said, "We have not arrested anyone in this case. We are examining all types of evidences."

Asked about the involvement of IM, he said the investigations were underway. "Unless we complete the process, we cannot jump to any conclusion." He said ammonium nitrate was used in the IEDs which had timers.

Sharma said a high alert has been sounded and number of policemen and bomb detection squads increased particularly in vulnerable areas of the city like crowded markets, malls and cinema halls.

Reddy said 15 special teams of Andhra Pradesh police, each having 10-15 personnel, have been constituted to probe the case and bring the culprits to justice.

Investigators were following some leads from CCTV footages, including of a man seen coming to the blast site on a bicycle with a bag. Mobile call records from the area at the time of the explosions were also being examined.

Director General of National Investigation Agency S.C. Sinha discussed with state police officials the on-going investigation.

Meanwhile, Abdul Wasey Mirza, a 23-year-old unemployed youth who fell victim to terror attack for a second time on Thursday in the Dilsukhnagar blasts, has been questioned by police which clarified he is not being treated as a suspect.

"As part of the investigations we only recorded his statement as a witness along with others," Sharma said.

"Nothing like that," Sharma said when asked whether the police suspected Mirza's involvement in the attack after a media report suggested the fact that he survived both 2007 Mecca Masjid and Dilsukhnagar blasts had aroused suspicion about his possible role in the explosions.

Cyberabad and Hyderabad police have questioned some local youths but made it clear that nobody has been detained so far.

"Media reports that we have detained some persons are totally baseless. We only called some people for questioning, which is a normal investigating procedure," a top police official said.
